Industrial dryers used for removing moisture from products like ceramics, textiles, chemicals, or minerals operate at elevated temperatures, often for extended periods. A heat-resistant mesh belt for such dryers must be capable of withstanding these temperatures without losing its strength, oxidizing excessively (scaling), or warping. Material selection is paramount. For temperatures up to approximately 400°C (750°F), austenitic stainless steels like AISI 304 or 321 are suitable. For higher temperatures up to 900°C (1650°F) or in atmospheres with cyclic heating and cooling, ferritic stainless steels (like 409) or high-nickel alloys (like Inconel) may be required. The belt's function is to carry the product through the heated chamber while allowing hot air to circulate through the mesh for uniform drying. In a ceramic tile dryer, the belt must support the green (unfired) tiles at temperatures around 200°C without marking the soft surface and must resist the abrasive nature of the clay dust. The belt's ability to resist thermal fatigue from continuous heating and cooling cycles is critical for long service life. We supply heat-resistant mesh belts in a variety of alloys designed for reliable performance in dryer applications.
